it's official, i am turning into a magpie. not content with hitting five thrift stores yesterday, i headed out the door today on the pretence of requiring groceries for the 'four hungry children' but really i was off to my local thrift place...it was the thought of "well what if something amazing had come in since i last went" that made me go. i know that it was fate, because i filled my cart with more pretty 'finds'...
several slips, including a fabulous vintage 'vanity fair' number (in the process of being dyed cocoa brown and being turned into a summer garden party dress). two asian bird pictures with frames that require a little painting (not sure whether to do white or something bright and cheery), but i just love them. one small bird plaque pictured above and a king size bed sheet with a great orange retro flower print, perfect for lining bags.
my favorite find though, and what is fast becoming my addiction, is the fourteen pillowcases that i scored...
they have such wonderful prints on them. what i really wish i could do with them, is to make girls dresses, but as my two are fifteen and fourteen, sadly no longer three and two, they shall end up as bag linings and appliques.now that i have spent two days in a row lining my nest with treasures, i need to spend some time 'making and selling' so we can continue to live in it...
