me and my touting ways...

i feel a bit like a traveling sales person this week dearest readers,
every time i've knocked on your doors i've had wares to show
and today i fear, is no different

i am quite sure at this moment in time as i have 'rat-a-tat-tatted' your door knockers, you are now shouting
"harold, HAROLD! for crying out loud, i thought i told you to dim the lights and pull the blinds so she wouldn't know we were home. this is the third time she's been round this week, showing me her wares, talking about her little shop window full of recycled vintage goodness. and quite honestly harold, i've had enough..."

then again perhaps not,
perhaps i could be 'ding-donging' your little doorbells and you are now saying
"oh harold darling! how delightful... it's that lovely Tif at the door again, she's always so bright and cheery. i do like it when she stops by to show me her latest lovelies as she heads on over to her little shop to pop them in her little window for all to see. such a nice kind thoughtful thing to do..."

of course, i am touting my wares in a vintage suitcase
and
and of course i have dressed appropriately.
i have a catalogue within my hands, for your perusal
and best of all,
i love the days when i go to leave,
so you may get on with your pea soup and you say
"Tif, it's just a thought, but if you aren't in any hurry, why don't you step inside... after all it's a bit chilly outside, have a bowl of pea soup with me and lets 'look' some more"

yes dearest readers, those are my favorite days...

after her soup, she will be going home to sleep, so she may rise early to fill her window with recycled vintage lovelies, looking for their 'forever' homes ~ Tif

I am SO hoping I catch you shop early - I am in love with your 'I will love you forever and a day' creation and seriously lusting to add it's perfection to my livingroom! In fact, I'd put my claim in right now if that sort of thing didn't make me seem like a drooling vulture. Hmm, do vultures drool....? Another query for wikipedia!

I've just been looking at etsy & I've fallen in love with the whatnot 'everyday' vintage stool but it would be above my budget by the time it's sent to me! ........ I love your style so I'll keep my eyes open for smaller/ lighter goodies, lol! If you knocked on my door I would be delighted. Must go now, I have to do my daughters hair 'Harajuku style' for crazy hair day.... this may take awhile. :)

I've told Harold he will have to stir the soup and walk the dog so I do indeed have more time to sit and look till my eyes are so full of things they have turned gree.
I always wanted green eyes.

if you knocked on my door, I would definitely invite you in for some pea soup. In fact, if you had called in last week you would have not only had pea soup, but carrot cake as well. I guess it's a long way to come for soup though. The shop is going to look peachy with all that new stuff, you've been very busy.

i am a new reader, but you are more than welcome to come knock on my door and show me your pretties!

oh dearest readers, i am positively blushing :)
and yes of course, silly me... i did not actually put a link to my shop in the ramble. this would indeed be most helpful for those that have stumbled upon me recently.
i'm over here www.dottieangel.etsy.com
if that helps :)

I do believe that dear Harold would have to spend some time in the coal room if he did not welcome you in immediately so that I could peruse your artful catalog and admire your lovely shoes..

Hi,
I have so much fun reading your blog :) I just love all the whimsy in your writing. I was wondering where your boots in one of the photos above came from?
Thanks,

Wow you've been busy!
I rarely get time to do my creative stuff, let alone blog. (which I know is also time consuming)
I appreciate all the hard work that goes into sharing with us.
Thanks!

Tif, I just found your blog by way of Sweet Jessie's, and I haven't felt so inspired in a long time. I love your homemade, vintagey look. It's so perfect, like a better version of Anthropologie! I'm also British-born and living State-side, so I am enjoying all of your Brit-isms very much. Knock on my door anytime!!

you would be so much more welcome at my door than all of those siding and insulation peddlers that show up constantly! your wares are much lovelier! I'm wanting to know how you manage to find so many thrifted owls; I always look at the thrift store but never find any.

Am giddy with excitement over all of the loveliness.

oh thank you my lovelies, i am postively beaming with your kindness...
perhaps a life on the road peddling my wares is rather peachy after all :) such lovely doors opened by such nice lovely home owners, i think myself most fortunate indeedy :)

and now if you don't mind i'm going to lie down in the back stockroom, it's not very big, but i feel the need :)

You can knock every day on my door. I like very much your creative work.

Its a strange day when reading another blog, I think to myself, Tif might like to see this. It would fulfil her need for packaging materials of the utmost loveliest kind and her penchant for reusing. So rather than talk myself out of leaving a comment with a link to a small box making tutorial - I should do it and Tif in her wisdom can easily ignore it. :)

I hope it suits you or at least provides ideas! I'm off to obsess over your buttons... Yum!

crafty mermaid, that is indeed a lovely little box, i think it most wonderful and am thinking wallpaper would look lovely...
i am also thinking it has the potential to be 'fiddly' and i'm a little 'fiddled' at the mo, but i thank you kindly for showing me this sweet project and for getting my cogs turning :)

I'm loving your photos, as always! You can come knocking any day. I'm ever inspired when I see the fun things you've been making. And, I love your new covered buttons and your presentation of them.

I'm hoping to start on some curtains for under my kitchen counters sometime in the next few weeks. Your pictures are the perfect inspiration to get the ol' wheels turning for those!
