welcome Mr Summer, welcome...

i fear i may be tempting fate,
after all it is only day two of sunshine
but it is a risk i am willing to take.

the most peachiest of retro tablecloths made from terry towelling
now brings a kitschy granny goodness to our kitchen knook...
unfortunately i have noted little olive eyeing her up.
and trust me, little olive may be only inches off the ground
but she came with invisible springs attached to her legs.

the back doors have been flung open

and a few paper lanterns, sprightly scraps and birdies are
happily 'dancing a dance' from my recycled, recycled 'gleeful' christmas tree

i shall continue to tempt fate every day by adding something new to
my little branch of summer happy in the hope of making Mr Summer so delighted
he stays put for a while...

she has a cunning plan to drop her children so they may loiter and she may go 'a thrifting' ~ Tif

Can we be friends? That is your back yard - and you have an airstream. Perfection! And maybe a chicken coop as well. Slightly jealous but completely wonderful post!

Out here in the blogosphere we adore dogs, so cannot get enough of the piccies of little olive. Today's is more than satisfactory. We have sunshine here too (and tennis) and so we are eating outside at every opportunity. How else are we to mark the seasons?

How inviting! Mr. Summer is sure to linger when he spies those vintage tablecloths and pretty lanterns. Stop by my blog if you're looking for easy art projects to while away an afternoon ;) http://theteacupincident.typepad.com

Your blog is a great inspiration! Where DO you find your fabrics? I'm in Orlando, FL and have such trouble finding Granny-esque florals and retro prints!

well thank you my dearies, Mr Summer is still here this morning and now i am thinking how i add flowers to the yard with my pesky chickens... for they get everywhere!
as for fabrics, you can always try etsy or ebay, i often have luck there :)

How wonderful, I can imagine spending many an hour sitting under those gorgeous little birdies sipping chilled white wine. Your chickens look very happy too, we have had to lock ours away after a terrible lettuce incident I reported on my blog recently :-(

Found you somehow via ninainvorm... love your blog so far...just read "about me" and at first I thought you were joking and were then going to say..."well, I wish that was my life" and then I saw the beautiful trailer in the garden and realised that you were telling the truth...oh, lucky you!! Will be reading more. Best wishes from Berlin, Cesca (Brit abroad)

Ohmygod. Is that seriously your backyard?
I'm speechless.
I might make this picture my desktop background so I can visit it.
Your outdoor table is so lovely. Is that a tablecloth? Or is fabric attached to the table top.
Sorry if that question is ridiculous.

christina, it is oilcoth that i staple gunned to the table... it has been out for over a year and never faded, i am so super impressed by it! and everything always looks jolly even if it is rainning :)
