if you could see me now...

so there is lots to catch up on from the last few days, first i need to let you know that my header on my blog page had defeated me, i could not get the design up onto the page. that's where my knight in shining armour came in...thank you for staying up so late and thank you for tolerating my need to put my title up "right now and no other time will do" attitude, it's all good...

anyhow, on to more events in the life of moi. took my haul down to show Tes at Velouria, accompanied by my friend Suzanne, who ever so sweetly spent an hour knitting in the local starbucks, while i did my thing. it really wasn't too much of a hardship as the sun was shining for the first time in a very long while.

anyway, Tes liked my designs and as of today, dottie angel is stocked in a very nice store amongst all these great handcrafting designers, lots of smiling going on around here. another piece of good news is, i will be having my textile pictures featured in the autumn for a whole month, you can just make out one of them to the right of the above photo...this is something that has really made me happy :)

so it just leaves me to let you know that my family and i are off to the beautiful islands of the northwest for 5 days of recuperating from our busy, but good lives...i shall be sure to be posting some great pictures of our trip and coming back refreshed and ready to tackle the last few months of school, my business and most interestingly our #1 child learning to drive!!

oh you pretty thing...

spent yesterday surrounded by buttons and lace, beavering away at the sewing machine creating my latest set of customized slips...

which will be listed in the shop today and tomorrow.

later today i will be packing my suitcase with my dottie angel collection to take to Tes at velouria.

i will be keeping all fingers and toes crossed that she likes my things and wishes to have them in her beautiful boutique store, i shall keep you posted...

on creative thoughts, my brother ben and i will be collaborating on a future project together. this is very exciting as he is an 'extremely talented self taught' artist and is basically agreeing to allow me to sabotage his art with my textile collage ideas. so watch this space for details etc...

my mind was buzzing all yesterday with ideas for posting and now that i sit here, i believe that i am experiencing "bloggers block", so my dears i shall leave you with this fabulous creation that our #3 child made out of a pair of socks, my favorite thing about him is his name giorgio armani...priceless

a day in the life of...

so used dog and i visited the vet today. after fainting at the cost, i cheered myself up with a visit to the local thriftstore. i love mondays as they always have a sale on...found some perfect slips for customizing and as i type they are whizzing around the washing machine. my plan is to start work on those tomorrow...in the meantime i am getting ready for my first yoga lesson...this is my attempt at getting fit and also bringing some calm to my mental state...being a busy mum and having a "thriving" (said with tongue in cheek) crafting business has driven me to take the plunge...

have purchased an earth friendly mat and block, not only do I feel good about that but it will also look very pretty in my lounge...these things are important to my creative eye...

so my dears, i shall leave you with this vision of my studio, which is one of my favorite places to be in and i promise to teach myself not only some yoga but, also the art of placing photos where i would like them in my blog and also links...it all takes time and rome was not built in a day...
