these two found me one week apart in my local thrift store,
both waiting on the shelves of despair,
both in need.
Mr Monkey needed a new nose
Mrs Monkey needed a pair of new ears
and
they both needed love
nearly a year on,
i am delighted to report their love is still going strong.
however unbeknownst to me they had secretly wished to be parents
so when a little baby monkey found me today
whilst 'a pottling' around the thrift store,
their little secret wish came true
after a new pair of ears
i stood back to admire the family.
i noted how they looked made for each other
and how interestingly of all,
little baby wooden monkey's ears were
the color as his mothers
but the shape of his fathers
she now has 'we are family' and 'reunited' going round and around in her head ~ Tif

I wonder if they had begun as a family in your area and been split up and then donated. I mean what are the odds...
How adorable!! What a gorgeous little family you have created!
I love the clean, pretty, simple feeling of your photos. :)
Those monkeys are gorgeous especially with the new nose & eyes. So jealous :D
that's the cutest little monkey family ever! i can't say i've ever ran into one wooden monkey, nevermind finding three! they're lucky to have found you :)
What sweet little monkeys. So glad they found each other. ( with your help of course)
well now this is about the cutest thing i have seen in many long time....those monkeys are just the best...and so excited by their baby...only you would find such fine monkeys.
They are lucky you found them
Oh, hello! Little baby is just precious.
I can't believe you found them all on 3 different occasions and the last one a year later! If that wasn't meant to be, I don't know what is!! They are adorable, I've never seen anything like it :)

How beautiful snug together!
I have never ever seen a wooden monkey like that in my life.......at any of the thrift stores I've ever been in....and here you are with 3 of them....found separately! Certainly not a coincidence :)
I love these monkeys. You are so lucky to have stumbled upon them in your thrifting. I have looked online to buy one and they are a couple of hundred dollars. I hope one will find me one day. ♥
How lovely that you were able to make a new family!
OH my gosh! It's such a sweet family and a touching happy end story ! <3 <3 <3
Tif this is the most wonderful news - hearty congratulations to you all. Ear shape genes apart the colouring of baby's ears and his Dad's nose is uncanny. Postcard print of this one please. x
You've fair brought a tear to my eye.

Happy ending, beautiful family, a pleasure to see
I LOVE happy endings... sigh...
I love your little family! I have only one monkey - now I am worried that he might be lonely! Have a great day, Stephie x
PS I thought it was modge podge too - maybe they should just cave to consumer pressure and change it! x
They are very pretty all together like that! I'm hoping for some good finds like that when I come to the US thrifting over the summer! I was flicking through my Selvedge magazine this morning and you are featured in an advert from Etsy. Well your tea towels are! I wasn't sure if you knew that so thought I would tell you :)
Oh I do love a good family reunion... I used the word unbeknownst in my post today, no one ever uses that word and here we are playing snap!
These three are so adorable. Do you have any more info/history whatsoever? Looks like they were made especially ...
I can't believe no one has commented on this! These little monkeys are just about the cutest thing.. and the family resemblance is uncanny.
Good job bringing them back together!
I got one, but yourlittle family llooks very happy, lol
I've done it Tif! I've done a bobble stitch tutorial. I have no idea if it'll make sense to any body else but I've had a go.
By the way, I was sooooo excited to get your comment, my husband doesn't understand my excitement, but I was chuffed and had to tell someone! Thank you xxx
dear, What Luck!
I have to say, I don't think I have ever seen monkeys like this. Now, if I do, I will think of your little monkey-family!

Meep meep! What a fortuitas find -- a family of wooden monkeys! They don't know how lucky they are that you found them and reunited them.
Hugs from Oregon.. Teresa
cute family.
what a lovely little story unfolding
Hi just wanted to say hi, found you through two bones and a bagle, love your blog!
Bee happy x
Have a delicious day!
These are one of the most adorable things I have ever seen. I love that you found the parents, fixed them up and then a year later you found the baby! It's like a real life story, the parents came together and soon had a baby <3
Aw how sweet, they do look like a proper family!
oh my goodness my lovelies! you have been so kind to mr and mrs monkey and their little one :)
i think you are quite right indeed, when i found little baby monkey i did indeed wonder if the second hand gods had played apart in the whole story...
little baby has a small label on her bottom saying "japan" which does not surprise me, we have a Japanese district within seattle, steeped in history and most fasinating to learn about... therefore quite often i spy things on the shelves of despair which come from Japan and are vintage.
brilliant tutorial cuckoo and with new babe in arms, you truly are amazing :)
You are funny Tif, your bobbles are perfect, they don't look inside out to me! I'm glad my tutorial has your seal of approval, I wasn't sure it made any sense to anyone else...oh self doubt is a terrible thing. x
So sweet! I wish I had your luck at finding cute little monkey families at thrift stores...
Love your blog and your constant creativity & humor!
Dear One,
This so enchantingly random that I don't know what to say except that I love that little family and I am so glad they found each other (and their ears and nose too!)
Blessings,
Katie
