yes!!! it's time for a 'give away'...
i will be leaving you for a few days, as i travel to the east coast to be reunited with our #1 after seven weeks of separation (gulp!), and so i felt it the perfect time to have a little 'summer apron wrap' give away.
i also thought that having little olive come to reside at mossy shed, 300 posts on my wee blog and over 200 sales in my little store was cause for a 'celebratory' offer...
it's so very easy peasy my dearest readers, all you have to do is dig deep into your 'imagination' and locate where you placed the little drawer marked
'creatures i wish to take into my nest and keep warm'
i'm sure we all have a little or big creature that roams this earth, that if 'sensibleness' were no object, we would like to share a life with them.
i shall start the ball rolling but do not fear, i am not going to put my own name in the 'dog bowl' because that would be daft wouldn't it... yes i thought you'd think so.
we shall look upon 'my creature i wish to take into my nest to keep warm' as an example for others to read and perhaps trigger a long lost thought that is in the back of their minds and has been filed away forever and a day.
until this moment that is, when suddenly it all becomes most important and relevant for 'winning' a dottie angel summer apron wrap.
as my nest is rather bulgy at the moment and of course we cannot forget my man has made it quite clear it's full to the max and no room for other 'waifs and strays' that may happen upon our doorstep, my example truly is one of 'wishing' but never actually 'having' (although i must just say, one should never say "never", because i do believe where there's a 'will' there is always a 'way'...)
here goes with mine...
i wish to feather my nest further with two goats, one called gertie and the other called bertie... i know that is rather silly, but quite honestly i do think goats can be rather silly and they prefer to have rhyming names to make them feel super duper silly on days when the weather is miserable, the brambles are in short supply and the TV isn't working so well because no one has bothered to fix the ariel on top of their shed.
a pretty ordinary creature wish i feel,
of course, you lovely lot will have far more interesting 'critter wishes' upon your list, ignoring the practicalities of where you live or the reality of actually owning such a creature, i'm sure you will not disappoint...
of course, you lovely lot will have far more interesting 'critter wishes' upon your list, ignoring the practicalities of where you live or the reality of actually owning such a creature, i'm sure you will not disappoint...
if i asked our #4, he would pipe up with a 'narwhal', perfectly understandable as they are rather interesting but of course completely out of the question as i have very little water in my back yard at the mo. come winter time, a small lake appears but it still would not be enough to keep a 'narwhal' happy and content...
so if you fancy winning the 'summer apron wrap' you see before you, just leave your 'creature' comment here, or email me with your 'creature' wish and i will be sure to add it to the dog bowl on my return from Rhode Island and dare i say it... New York with my girls!
and all the time keeping my fingers crossed that the 'one man and two boys' left back at the shed don't forget about little olive and her 'needs'...
she will be back to announce the winner on Thursday 13th August, with tales to tell from the big apple and a whole lot of 'granny chic' loving, till then she wishes you a lovely few days ~ Tif
i wish to feather my nest with a pig - a pink plump pig named lollipop. lollipop will live in our home and eat at our table and help me with laundry on mondays. she will also help me wash the floor by spraying her snortsnuff around while i mop. her snortsnuff is magic and toxin free. at nite will will tuck her into a special bed by the mudroom door - with her favorite strawberry sucker blankie
ReplyDeleteTif, this one is easy peezy. I want a mule, or even better, tow mules. That is all. Oh, and another apron wrap to add to the collection.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for a creature that cleans, does the dishes and laundry, and makes dinner. But I believe such a critter has yet to be discovered...
ReplyDeleteSo, for now I'll wish for a horse. I would love to have a horse but I would love one more if they weren't so high maintenance. The idea of a horse sounds like so much fun but the work, not as much. I've always wanted one, maybe some day we'll have one...when I know we'll have the time to care for one.
I always felt you to be a kindred spirit but I know for certain as I also would like a goat or two roaming about my yard.(That notion was not entirely my own, originally, as my husband has talked about getting one so often that I rather like the idea now.)
And, to add to the creature wish list (is there a limit here?--how about a word limit? geez...!)-- you've renewed my desire for a tiny dachsund to rule our home. For surely, a puppy rules the roost!
~ Jennifer
P.S. My word verification is 'laugh'. Love it.
My creature would be a wombat. I have never seen one in person, but having read the book "Sometimes I Curl Up in Ball" a million times, I feel that I could care for a wombat with ease. To me, a wombat must surely be cuddly and snuggly and I would love to do both with a sweet little wombat.
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted a few chickens and a lovely little pig to help with the mulberry harvest. I would collect the eggs in my sweet new apron...
ReplyDelete...why...PESKY SQUIRREL i would...like to take into my nest & keep warm...by the oven...vintage it is...and oh~so cute...has a tendency to burn anything in it tho..
ReplyDeleteI think in addition to the usual puppy and small flock of sheep I'd like a pair of Hedgehogs who I'd name Charles and Alice in honor of the croquet game in Alice in Wonderland.
ReplyDeleteloving them all... as usual you do not disappoint:)
ReplyDeleteyour names are all in the doggie bowl :)
I have always wished for a leopard for a pet. I haven't named him yet but he would spend his days sleeping on the daybed on the balcony. Purring. I live in an apartment in Brisbane, Australia (on the 3rd floor) so he would have to come and go ('cos of course I couldn't lock him in during the day) by use of the window and a trampoline. I'm sure he would fit right in.
ReplyDeleteAs my fiancee knows I want to take every fuzzy little thing I see into our nest and snuggle it within an inch of it's life. That is except our own furry creature Megatron the kitty who wants nothing to do with me...
ReplyDeleteIf I was allowed free reign and had my own proper little nest I would want to share it with an owl. I know this sounds cliche but I have always loved owls and would love to have my own little Bubo like Athena that lived with me and I could confide all my silly thoughts and stories to while I was baking all sorts of goodies including owl treats.
I think I may have a bit of Harry Potter longing going on but it's my nest and my dream owl and I'm okay with that. ^.^
Oh dear, I was going to say wombat as well.
ReplyDelete...and a goat named Pickle.
A family of meerkats! Cause that would be a hoot. Not to mention super cute and hilarious.
ReplyDeleteFunny, we're currently in the process of acquiring some land so we can get a few goats. I agree, they are so silly!
my nest would have to include one creature for each member of my family, just to be fair. for me, it would be a small snowy owl. for my husband, a lemur (there's already a stuffed toy lemur on his desk. oh, he'd be so surprised if he had a real one)! for my daughter sarah, a white arctic fox. for my son david, hmmm, a simple cuddly dog would be welcomed w/open arms. and for my littlest daughter violet, a shetland pony so she could braid its mane w/ribbons and bows and ride it all day long.
ReplyDeleteA darling little Koala Bear, they look so cuddly and huggable, as my lanky teenagers don't want my snuggles anymore, I would share them with a Koala.Of course I would have the Eucalyptus leaves shipped in as they are in short supply around here, in fact there are none!
ReplyDeleteFailing that, I'm not greedy I just really want my little Wilson as I mentioned yesterday!
Rachel x
i live in detroit...and the homeless animal population breaks my heart..if i had a giant house on a giant piece of land..i would love to start a free roaming refuge for them.
ReplyDeleteI would love to home a sweet little sea horse. He would teach me how to enjoy swimming & diving under water so that I could finally go scuba diving (gas free of course) with my husband (he loves it) & I could momentarily turn in to a mermaid, all thanks to the newly acquired skills learnt from the bright purple, yello & pink seahorse! x
ReplyDeleteI wish for a pair of Donkey's! Daft I know but I think they are so sweet. I would name them Edna and George.
ReplyDeleteThank you
Melissa
A cockatoo! He would be cheeky, precocious, and especially naughty. He would drop expletives at inopportune moments, at which times I would proclaim "Oh he didn't learn that from me". He would sit on my shoulder for most of the day, and when it came time for sleep, a sheet over his cage would do the trick.
ReplyDeleteThis is easy as I've been telling anyone who'll listen about this for the last few months. My husband and I decided that, since we already have a 'house tiger' (aka Emily the cat), how cool would it be to have a 'house elephant' on the same scale?! I guess it would be about the size of a big dog and would do cute things like steal food from the dining table with its trunk. Plus, as a bonus, it's pooh would be great for the garden!
ReplyDeleteAm I allowed to play from the UK?
ReplyDeleteI'm finding this unbelievably hard! There are any number of creatures that i would have curled up with me, a black cocker spaniel, and a cairn terrier (think hairy McClairy) a fluffy gosling and a piglet. I'm not sure if they'd all get on or if any of us would get any sleep. but right now, my middle one, little miss independent at the tender age of 3 is striding out on her own and won't be helped or touched or cuddled so the moments when she chooses to come and snuggle under my wing are my favorite of all.
A dugong. Like a cow, only one that lives in the sea. Except that drunken sailors apparently used to think dugongs were mermaids. A pipe dream indeed - my bathtub isn't big enough. And I'd need to grow fields of lettuce because that's all he'd eat (while setting an excellent salad-eating example for the kiddly winks). His name, quite obviously and regardless of sex is Daisy.
ReplyDeleteHello Tif!
ReplyDeleteI'm new to your blog - I followed a link from sfbaygirl and I've been so enjoying reading all your old posts; the trials & tribulations of finding Mossy Shed, adventures in the rainforest, being inspired by the beautiful things you make and most particularly hearing about "used dog" - thank you for letting me and the rest of the world in on your inspiring and creative life!
I would have a Wolf to keep me company at home. He'd come eveywhere with me, wait patiently when necessary (outside Sainsburys) and be a gentlemanly companion on camping trips ~ keeping me warm and snug in the tent and protecting me from the things that go bump! in the night.
Well, after fidning your blog, and meeting Dottie Angel, I really want some chickens. I've even gone as far as telling my husband that I think we need some chickens to feather our nest, but he doesn't agree. So for now (until I can make him see clearer) I will have to just dream about the chickens.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful visit in NY!
we are simple folk and wish for a sweet dog named lucy and/or two parrotlets named bonnie & clyde. thank you for the lovely giveaway. enjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteI would wish for feathered friends to feather my nest, specifically ridiculously silly chickens. Turkens and silkies and heirloom varieties that would compliment my heirloom vegetables. And miracously they would not free range in my small yard and not want to eat any of my garden, poop on my porch, or wander far and wide to make feasts of themselves for neighborhood dogs.
ReplyDeleteI would love to cuddle up with chickens. A whole slew of them. Granted they arent thought of cuddling and would probably peck the crap out of me I have longed to have chickens to call my own for years as I continue to rent in a non-chicken friendly apartment while all of blog land seems to be living my dream!
ReplyDeleteoh, you "took mine" ;-) i have ALWAYS wanted goats and my daddy would have let me as a little girl too, but my mama gave him a look that said "not in a million years is this girl getting goats" and that was that. thanks for a chance to win; it's a delightful apron!
ReplyDeleteI would love to keep a chipmonk safe and warm. So cute, so cute!
ReplyDeleteMmmmmm...This one truly is an easy one! Goats for me too! Tho, if I must admit it, it would be for purely selfish reasons....goats milk, which can be turned into goats cheese! For there is nothing better in the cheese world, than a creamy slice of goats cheese set on top of a perfectly ripe heirloom tomato, straight from the garden. Yup...goats for me!
ReplyDeleteI wish to feather my nest with a milk cow....it just seems such a stretch for my tiny apartment, and such a wish for a farm in the future. Where I don't have to pay $4 a gallon for milk....oh how nice...her name would be bama...(shout out to where I grew up)...she would be brown and white and how so nice...
ReplyDeletewell...my first feather my nest pick would be a rhode island red hen named henrietta. she would most definitely lay the most perfectly perfect brown eggs and eat all of the ticks/yucky bugs that were around.(she would not however eat the beneficial/lovely bugs)she would roost in her red/blue gingham bed at night, happy as a little red hen.
ReplyDeleteI would feather my nest with a beautiful red admiral butterfly where she would sprinkle happiness all around then fall asleep on my beautiful new pinny. x
ReplyDeleteI am going with a fluffy puppy and lion cub. Both would stay little and cute forever. And perfect for those days when you had too much wine the night before and you just want something soft and cuddly to snuggle up next to you on the sofa.
ReplyDeleteMine is so basic! I just want a dog!!!!! But we like to go on impromptu road trips with our kids and have no one to care for a pet when we're out of town. So. I've got to put that dream on hold for a while.
ReplyDeleteI already have three lovely dogs and a set of clucky hens, but when I was a child I dreamed of having a pushmi-pullyu (as in the Dr Dolittle books). When I saw the film it convinced me that they existed and were to be had - and I was so disappointed when I finally realized that they were just the stuff of fantasy. So a pushmi-pullyu it would have to be!
ReplyDeletePomona x
Hmmm, I think an owl would be nice. It would flit around and be very helpful in a knowing kind of way.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe a koala bear. That would be very cuddly and not at all grumpy.
Thank you for making me think of funny things for five mins!
Deb
what a lovely way to start my morning... a cup of tea and your lovely 'creature wishes' :)
ReplyDeletei am off to pack my little suitcase, type up 'olive' instructions and leave for the east coast... thank you for giving me lots of lovely creature thoughts to take with me :)
hummmm I wish I could have horses around....I luv their smell and who doesn't like to go for ride on the beach! Thanks for the lovely giveaway...Luv your photos and stuff!
ReplyDeleteXX
CRIS
a manahtee. such as the narwhal dream, it will remain merely a dream. but, i have wanted one of those chubbly bumbly whiskered swimmers since i was seven and i asked the sea world man if i could get in the tank with him.
ReplyDeletealas, i was not allowed. but the dream of owning one as a pet has never (and will never) die.
you know me.... i'll take in anything that arrives at my shed door!
ReplyDeletecan i still be allowed in the bowl ;)
have a safe trip and give Olive a kiss from us x
t x
I would love to have a barn owl. I think it would be a gentleman owl and it would be called Edmund. As I live in New York City this is entirely unrealistic...
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to go to Purl (both the fabric and yarn stores), small but lovely.
Hi Tif
ReplyDeleteI would like a horse, a big black and white gypsy cart horse, that would pull our family in a trap {sustainable travel!} and should I ever own a gypsy caravan, would pull us in that too, so we could slowly amble around the countryside, meeting lots of people, discovering new places and eating a hedgerow harvest as we go. Obviously I wouldn't want to own just one animal, it would be lonely, so I would like a bird, who would sit on the horses head and chatter away, giving directions, maybe an owl?
Emma x
Just a few chickens. My sweet little girl couldn't stand to leave them last time we visited our friends' farm. And fresh eggs? Perfection.
ReplyDeleteI think a polar bear in the house would be wonderful - but only if it didn't mind not living in freezing temps and wasn't ferocious and maybe it could be a kind of small polar bear that didn't grow to big, a dwarf polar bear. Can you imagine snuggling up on the couch with a polar bear.
ReplyDeleteOh and a hedgehog too, aren't they just the sweetest things. I wonder if the hedgehog and the polar bear would get on.
Of course I don't have only ONE creature for my wish list, which is why I have to have a chaperone with me at all times. I have always wanted a pet monkey, even though I am aware they are prone to throwing poo. I used to have ferrets and I miss them terribly, so those are on my list also. And finally... I recently saw an ad for a 14 week old St Bernard puppy (price reduced) that I wanted pretty badly, but what with the animals we already have, I got the veto on that one. Until two days later that is, when my dear husband came up to me while I was on the computer and asked... "Do you really want that puppy?" With that look in his eye that said he wanted a puppy too. Maybe we BOTH need a chaperone...
ReplyDeleteOh yes, easy...sheep, love those cuddly cute sheep.
ReplyDeleteTwo please and maybe a lamb. I would make us all a sweater with their spun wool. It will look lovely with that apron!
I would love a small cuddly puppy! We have a cat that perfers my husband and I would love a pup that follows me around all day long!
ReplyDeleteHi Tif,
ReplyDeleteI would love an all grey cat with a flopped down ear and beautiful green/golden eyes. He would have a plump belly and would understand human, and his name would be Max.
Alas it is just a dream as the Mr. is allergic.
Thanks for the giveaway.
Hello Tif,
ReplyDeleteI am still running barefoot around the garden, in the dewy grass, the warm sun tickling the freckles on my face.... I would love my doggie, buzz, to be my creature I care for, along with a beautiful baby would be lovely. One day, my wish may come true ....so that I can to live the dream in the beautiful, yellow pinnie and care for my crew. Mellissa x
I secretly want to bring home an iguana. I made friends with one in Mexico; he used to come out and sun himself by my feet while I sat in my chair. I think we are kindred spirits... laying in the hot sun all day, only moving when we need a drink or need to use the facilities. We could lead a charmed life together, Mr. Iggy and I.
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to own a giraffe, one that will wrap it's long neck around me and lick my face and then put it's head in my lap... my house probably is not large enough, but i would upgrade, of course. :) And the giraffe's neck would of course have to be nice and bendable to accommodate my hugging needs.
ReplyDeletethanks for the thought prompt. alovely thought indeed.
stumbled upon your blog today for a first time, love it. you are inspiring. thanks!
I wish to feather my nest with a pair of hedgehogs. :) I think they are so darn cute! And i would name them lilo and lola. Have a lovely merry happy day and love to you!
ReplyDeleteI would feather my nest with a beehive, can you imagine the bee's
ReplyDeletebuzzing around your garden pollinating all of the wonderful flowers and then going back to their hive and making you delicious
honey. Mmmmmmm.....
Karen
I'm from Down Under and as you may be aware, we had some devestating bushfires rip through our beautiful bush earlier this year. Many amazing and unique creatures were injured and burnt. I would LOVE to ensure that all of these creatures were snuggled under a blanket and shown the love and care that they need.
ReplyDeleteOf course, they would snuggle under my hand sewen quilt made with a lot of TLC.
I would have to get a hedgehog. I love their wee noses, their prickle-ball shape, and their bumbly-tumbleness-- that chubby, wobbly, you-can't-believe-this-little-creature-can-actually-perambulate-down-the-way quality. I don't think my cats would approve, though.
ReplyDeleteFive puppy shih tzu, I am desperate to let my baby have a litter x
ReplyDeleteI want a goat to make goat cheese, some sheep/lambs, and chickens. I'd also maybe like a horse and a cow... And I'd be happy with a pig.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'd like a lab/poodle mix named butterscotch!
tif i would love a poodle i would call her sugar. she would be my constant companion sitting with me while i craft and dream of a life like dottie angel . id wear a vintage slip she would wear a pink bow made from a vintage teatowel id put on my apron and she would know it was dinner time
ReplyDeleteMine is so pedestrian and common -- but I'd love for my children to have a puppy, perhaps some kind of rowdy and happy terrier mix. Not so easy, as my husband still offers a VERY decisive NO on this request. (He's so agreeable to everything else, that we know that NO is really serious.)
ReplyDeleteThe kids are still quite small -- 7 & 4 -- so I hope that in a few years, they'll need less work themselves and we can add to our family with a sweet mutt.
While goats come in a close second (my mum's neighbours have a house goat who is rather fun), I have always wanted to have a llama. My mister even went so far as to secure one for me, but I had to say 'no' and toss away my dreams of petting its sweet face every day, hitching it up with saddle bags for market, using its wool to make lovely slippers, and running a dial-a-llama service.
ReplyDeletethis summer three baby geese somehow became separated from their mother and were stranded at our side door. i thought at first- how cute... let's keep them. about 8 hours later they were still there... so i tucked them into a large box and toted them back to the lake nearby. i was sad they were so fluffy and wonderfully deserving old lady names like stella, myrtle and hazel. they could be litter trained, right?
ReplyDeleteMy doublemints would like a "tiger kitty" please.
ReplyDeletei would love a dalmation, i've always wanted one, but my children want a beagle called Doogle....
ReplyDeleteOoh, I would take any waif and stray into my nest...but I so need a bigger nest!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, and adore your blog!!
Warmest,
Jane

Well, since the nest is already feathered with 41 chickens, 4 pilgrim geese. Or wait. Maybe that's 44 chickens and 4 pilgrim geese...
ReplyDeleteAnyways, since we've plenty of feathers, 2 red dogs, and a grey and white feline...
and since we already spent a summer in a canvas tent with a wee pygmy goat name Poquito...tied up so that he could lie down just inside the door to prevent him from keeping us awake with his bleating...
I think, we could use a skunk to round out our little household. Name? Not sure yet, but destinked would probably be a goo idea.
Mine would be a red fox. I would name him Grey and I would want to be able to put him in my bike basket and show him off to my friends. I've just rented the Fox and the Child from Netflix, so I'm sure I'll be dreaming about foxes all weekend.
ReplyDeleteI wish to feather my nest with a few chickens and a pygmy goat.
ReplyDeletehmmmmm.....two things please.
ReplyDelete1. a soot sprite from 'my neighbour Totoro"....messy, I know, but fun I think. They make me smile every time I see them!
2. Some kind of miniature, non spitting, house-trained llama. Llamas are my FAVOURITE animal. (If I couldn't fine this particular rare creature I would make do with a pygmy goat).
Nicki x
A fox named Abigail. She could wear one of my feedsack aprons, and make pie dough, while I peel and slice winesap apples or alberta peaches. She could tell me about the goings on in the woods, why rabbit checks the mailbox daily and where red squirrel dissapears to every October. I'd let her have the extra room, the one with the blue basket quilt and big paned window. But she would have to promise to steer clear of the chicken coop.
ReplyDeleteGot to be a tiny little Dormouse, all curled up and sleeping. Soft and gentle and LOW maintenance!
ReplyDeleteHoly toledo what a lovely happy apron for pie baking.
ReplyDeleteOooo, I would love a brown bunny named Claire with floppy ears. She would hop around the house and eat grass in the yard.
ReplyDeleteI would love to feather my nest with a wonderous wooley Angora goat! Her name would be Eowyn. I would spin her yearly shearings into yarn and knit silky-soft sweaters and hats for everyone!
ReplyDeleteThanks for having the give-away! That is so nice!
I had a duck as a toddler and I rather miss him. We had many adventures together. I think I would enjoy having new adventures with another duck. The apron would go nicely for our walks.
ReplyDeleteNancy A.
I've always told my husband that I wanted two goats as well: Milly and Tilly. I've just learned that we aren't zoned for goats. (We do have 11 chickens though.)
ReplyDeleteAm I allowed 3?
ReplyDeleteMy first one would be the tiny pot of yogurt on the advert...it has arms and legs and when you come home at night it runs to the front door for a cuddle.
Second, as a little girl I had a crush on Grover from Sesame St, so a drawer full of Grovers would be excellent.
Lastly, all the goldfish we've ever owned have died far sooner than is polite so I'd love a plump, long life Goldfish with large bulgy eyes and a feathery tail. I'd call it Stephen Jenkins, in honour of my first boyfriend who also had rather protuding peepers. TTFN!
I would love to share our home with a dog again but first we have to come over the sadness of loosing our lovely dog Tanya...she got sick so we had to let her "go" for a little time back.
ReplyDeleteI also want some butterflies to move in here, i love them :)
Wishing you a nice week Tif,
warm hello from Vibeke in Norway
I would like to have the new and abridged versions of the "know it all 21 yr old" and the "petrified of going away to college formerly lovely 18 yr old" and last but never least the "holy crap I'm the only one left here- 15 yr old".....while I have been feathering my nest with multiple versions of the above mentioned, I'm ready for them all to be back to their own, wonderful selves that are hiding in side of them!!!
ReplyDeletebut since theat's not happening at the moment...how I would like to feather my nest with another cuddly lab! They're always good for a cuddle and kiss
I have to say, with no hesitation, that I would love my creature, if time and reality be no object, to be a baby dragon. My dad always made up medieval dragon fairy tales for me to go along with his tattoos, and I always wanted to be a raggedy, independent princess who had her own dragon whom she could nestle in her pocket. Of course, it might grow into a protector of sorts, which is always handy. Lastly, dragon's name would, of course, be dragon. Because thinking up the perfect name is too impossible when faced with such a fantastic creature.
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes!
i think i would like to have a cat. even though i've always thought i didn't like cats. it would be marvelous to have a friend to snuggle with. a small one. and maybe a diana camera, and eventually a dslr. when my poor student self can get a job.
ReplyDeleteI would love for a lovely black-capped chickadee to come and visit me everyday. Never caged but to not be afraid to land on my finger or my shoulder. To be more a friend than a captive creature. I also would love to have a sreech owl visit in the same manner but to be a night time buddy. I absolutely love birds of all kinds and would never keep them caged unless they needed a safe haven. That would be my animal wish as I already own a rescued dog, two rescued cats and a lovely fish.
ReplyDeleteI would love a little pet squirrel!
ReplyDeleteoh me, oh my, i would feather my nest will all kinds of God's lovely creatures. Pygmy goats, a cow and 2 pet pigs...along with a lop eared bunny, 5 puppies and 3 stray kittens. Oh to live on a farm and make these feathered dreams take flight!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the contest. You're a doll!
This is just too cute!! I want a camel for our lovely Sahara Desert here in Morocco! Cannot wait to hear more of your trip!
ReplyDeleteI miss the cluck-cluck of the hens I grew up with! Some day when the landlord is on extended vacation...
ReplyDeleteHi Tif,
ReplyDeleteI dream every day of a little cottage in the country with a little stream full of fish and room for sheep, pigs and chickens and goats and ducks, all of whom would supply me with their organic goodness and befriend my imaginary flock of "earthy" children and fill my days with happiness and purpose. One day....
Love Jane K
Hi Tif :D Hope you had a great week with girls!
ReplyDelete"creature" wish....hm. I do not know..
my wish came true so far - a dog and 2 cats.
But if I could, I want new puppy - that would be great!
Hi Tif, I would love to feather my nest with 1. tidy children; 2. tidy husband and if that fails 3. Pierce Brosnan. Great blog and I am still hoping for one of your GORGEOUS slips. Kathyx
ReplyDeleteIt's always been a fantasy of mine to nest with a zebra...and to ride him...to go walking with him...to have him help carry my parcels...his name would be Hugo...
ReplyDeletemy daughter and i were on a plane together the other day and a woman a couple of rows ahead had one of those hollywood type pocket dogs with her, all gussied up no less. we decided that we would like a pocket horse. she loved polly pocket as a little girl and of course rainbow brite... i wonder what the feline fatales of the house would think about that?!
ReplyDeleteCreatures I like to take into the nest and keep warm must refer to our brand new puppy. He is very cute (my daughter named him Cutie),
ReplyDeletebut we are having problems of course, with housetraining. Sometimes I feel like keeping him out of the nest and in the cold (or heat as we live in Florida),
anyways, patience, patience, patience. gdwitch31@aim.com
A tiny farm would be nice, like in Babe, but even smaller. With a couple of pigs, some sheep, one or two cats etc. BUT non of the animals would be eaten. They could just live peacefully on the farm. :)
ReplyDeleteAnne B. from Finland
Deer! As many as my nest will fit! They make me feel awe struck and humbled, they are that beautiful.
ReplyDelete
