counting the days...

with just days to go until Christmas things are ticking along nicely...
Our #1 is back in the shed,
she arrived with an english accent and a bag full of Chocolate.
little olive has reached her peak of fitness
and i am actually really rather proud.
for some time ago she confessed to a fear of heights,
which as you can imagine is tres tricky if you wish to guide Santa's sleigh.
so for the past few days she has bravely practiced looking down...

this year her antlers are bigger than last years set,
indeed they are quite on the loose side of things.
however little olive has taken to wearing them day and night,
and i have high hopes come Christmas Eve,
she will have mastered them perfectly

and so my dearest readers, as hard as it is to believe,
yet another year has whizzed on by
and i am left again marveling at all the things that have past.
i know for some the holiday season can be a little lonely,
or indeed a little sad,
loved ones no longer with us and family far away.
for many this year, in old blighty and europe,
the snows have caused plans to be changed.
so where ever you are,
whatever you celebrate this time of year
and with whom (two or four legged friends a like).
i am thanking you for the kindness you continue to show me
and may your season be filled with
a little joy,
a little peace
and
a little crafting...

she is wishing you a 'peachiest of peachy' new year ~ Tif

  11. Reading your posts about your daughter make me smile. I moved to the UK, my family is in Texas, and the one thing people ask for when I come home? Cadbury's. Last Christmas (for my husband and I alternate holidays with our respective families) I had a backpack full of nothing but. The weight? 16.4 kilos. No joke. Enjoy your daughter, my mother says she's jealous. xxx

  18. Tif, I am so pleased to hear that your dear darling girl arrived home safely, despite the snow. It has been all over the news here in Australia (the snow, that is) and, believe it or not, snow has fallen in Australia's alpine region (it only usually snows there over our very brief 3 months of winter) so those lucky enough to live there will have a white Christmas...in Australia!

Our Christmas here in Queensland will be wet, unfortunately, as will my birthday (which #1 and I share). Something that I am not looking forward to as we are already waterlogged here with all of the rain we have been having over the last two months. Some regions nearby are expecting flooding over Christmas. A year ago we were in drought, and now there is flooding right across the country...such is life in Australia.

Well, I do hope that you have a lovely Christmas, especially with #1 home, that your kiddos have wonderful birthdays, and that your New Year is happy and joyous. Thank you again for your inspiration this year Tif, and I hope that 2011 is kind to Dottie Angel Ltd :)

    Much love, Karen xx

  25. I was wondering if it were England, that is far indeed. Do you watch the flight tracker? I always do when mine go over and back. Sometimes they are so insensitive though and post scary things that translate roughly to: the flight is late so start worrying. Start? FlightAware has modified the tracker to include a ghosty looking plane outline instead of a dotted line that ends abruptly somewhere over the ocean. It actually helps! I'm always checking the latest bleeps from Newfoundland and Greenland as it goes across. So, I've definitely got my apronstring cred, have I not? I remember that feeling when the entire brood were together, never wanted to end....
