post party mortem...

having trawled through my little selection of party pics, i have discovered that the majority of them are extremely blurry...which comes as no surprise really, so here's a sample of 'the best' of a 'bad lot'...

i must thank you all for your lovely supportiveness in my 'week of crisis'...i am now fully recovered from my 'under the weatherness' and have sworn off cocktails mixed by 'well meaning friends'...at least until the next 'big number'.

and so dear readers, i am starting my first full week of being a 'grown up'...it is just fine, much better than i thought it would be, of course that does not include the moments when i catch myself remembering i am 40, then i am not quite so good...

this week i have my in-laws back to stay, plus the pressing need to read my panini maker instructions (for crying out loud, i've never been a 'diamonds' kind of girl, but please 'a panini maker' for one's 40th...i ask you) to keep my mind from drifting towards 'forty thoughts'...with such a thrilling week ahead, i am going to take the next few 'days off' from my little blog and will see you on friday...

she's thanking you so very kindly for the 'birthday wishes' ~ Tif

  1. Awwwww...it looks lovely and wonderful. I'll be coming back here to get ideas for my 40th birthday...though it's in the winter and may not work out so well with the vibe you had going on.

  2. My Mum was gived (by my father) a salt crock for her 40th which I do think is worse than a panini maker.
The ensuing rumpus is still used as a warning to all unromantic birthday present buyers. it was even worse than the Christmas when she got a socket set.
Happy belated birthday - lovely to see your trailer still glowing amidst the bunting.
I am 8 months behind you,

  7. My husband gave me an exercise bike for my 21st ( many years ago!)so has learnt his lesson, the endless teasing has resulted in some excellent presents over the years.
Enjoy being 40, I am treating it as an excuse to treat myself all year long.

  8. What's wrong with a Panini maker! I know that this is crappy kitchen appliance and of course I could try harder, but its better than a knife set or a lemon squeezer.

  10. Am I right in thinking a panini maker is just an upmarket version of a toasted sandwich maker?
I like the odd panini when out.

I do hope you received some more sexy presents that are just too risque to mention here:)

  11. do you see what i see...i am in shock, my man has not only visited my little blog but posted on it. (unless it is an imposter, using this moment to defend men all over the world)

i just knew the minute i made a 'crack' at the panini maker it would come back to haunt me...

is it illegal for one's man to visit one's blog? i am seeking professional advice on this matter, once i have got through my 'panini manual' :)

  12. Happy belated Birthday Tif! I hope it was special. {I was having computer issues, mostly brought about by my own incompetence with said instrument.} I was just catching up on the past week. Everything looks like it was beautiful. I hope you had a fabulous party! Happy 40th, and many more!

  14. Use his fingers to make a 'bad husband' Panini and he will never be able to post on your blog again. Either that or buy him a very expensive piece of lady jewellery for his next birthday....bad boy!!

  17. Is that Miss India Rose on the stool looking all aloof and sophisticated?

Hmm ... Panini maker - I think it would only merit birthday pressie status if it came in a jolly colour/retro stylee/had something sparkly and gorgeous attached. But then I'm both shallow and churlish lol!

Having said that, my colleagues at work collected for my 50th and bought me a toilet from Oxfam Unwrapped ....
