whether you celebrate thanksgiving or not, it is always good to every now and then, count one's blessings and give a little thanks.
i am thankful for many things in my life that go without saying,
my family that have strong opinions on doilies,
my aging but healthy body and dubious sanity,
my creatures that reside at mossy shed and don't talk back,
my nostril hair of the worst kind and the path it took me down,
and one other thing...
a 'thing' that has been my constant companion for 41 years, sometimes i've used it and sometimes i've neglected it, but it has always been there, lurking in the background patiently waiting for the moments i allow it to shine.
so this thanksgiving
i am thankful for...
my imagination...
quite simply i would not be who i am without it.
and so dearest readers it is now your turn to count a blessing or two, for some this is not always an easy thing to do, for the road can be quite rough at times. but i do think with a little thought, even the smallest of things can be worth being 'thankful' for.
and when you have done your 'thankful' thinking, leave me your 'giving thanks' comment here or send it in an email to tif@dottieangel.com and i will pop you in a 'thankfully glee' dish and announce a winner on Thursday Dec 3rd.
i'm hoping that Speedy will pick out the winner but he has just informed me that he's busy redecorating his 'pad' and so might not be available. if that's the case then i am hoping for a 'passing stranger' to aid me with this giveaway...
of course it has just occurred to me, that i haven't actually mentioned what i have to 'giveaway'.
i can assure you, it will not be,
my family with opinions on doilies,
my aging body and dubious sanity,
my creatures that reside at mossy shed,
nor my nostril hair of the worst kind
(i hear cries of relief over at least two of those things).
no dearest readers,
i have to offer in the way of thanking you most kindly for being nice and lovely people,
("ooooh, Tif, that's special"... i hear you gasp)
but wait, there is more
one yarn ball wreath, from the archives of my crafting epiphanies, made in November 2007, yes i do believe it could almost be called 'vintage dottie angel'.
so there it is,
a magazine and a ring of yarn balls,
surely that makes for an excitingly 'thankfully glee' giveaway.
so it just leaves me to say, my sister-in-law and her little one are coming to stay at mossy shed tomorrow, and so i shall be gone until the 3rd.
but do not fear dearest readers as i have made you a 'to do' list in my absence.
for some of you that don't craft, it may be a little tricky but i'm sure this may be the very 'to-do' list that gets you going down the crafty road i travel everyday...
1. make a 'grandma twinkle' garland courtesy of the fabby michelle
2. find someone else to clean the toilets and wash the floor
3. make a wonky crocheted tree courtesy of my dodgy directions (and you will have to scroll down on the post to actually find the directions, because as usual i have waffled a whole ton before the instructions)
4. avoid looking at your nostrils up close for a whole week
5. visit the 'challengers of the utmost kind' on my sidebar and be inspired by their thrifty handcrafted 'gleeful' creations
6. eat lots of chocolate
7. make a grandma tree courtesy once again, of the wonderfully generous creative brain of michelle
8. cut up a 'boiled' gleeful sweater belonging to your man, or mother-in-law and make a simple but gleefully charming garland
9. be thankful and gleeful as much as possible, it's quite contagious and spreads rapidly
she is looking forward to reading your 'thankfully glee' comments and wishes you a 'gleeful' 10 days without her ~ Tif

ReplyDeleteAnd, since we cannot find a copy of Artful Blogging anywhere in our city, it would be a prize of the utmost kind if my name was to be picked!

ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful post. These days with a little one constantly underfoot I'm finding thankfulness in the most unexpected moments. I'm thankful for slow mornings, scattered crayons, cheerios in the carpet and fingerprints on the stainless fridge.

I am thankful for....
ReplyDeletemy wonderful husband and my beautiful daughter.
the wonderful relationship I have with my mother.
the times I get to myself to bake and craft.
everything in my life - the good and the bad.
I am so thankful for my sense of humour and being able to look on the bright side of things.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what happens to me when times of grim strike involving exams, hospitals, police stations, paying bills, crying children....but I turn into Jerry Seinfeld. It's comforting to know that when others are losing their minds or are crying messes, I come along and do standup.
But then I expect that could be rather irritating to the lost mind messes.
Oh well. :)
Have a wonderful relaxing time with your dear sis.

I am always telling myself to count my blessings and trying to find things to be glad about, in the manner of little Pollyanna, but I think the concept of gleefulness takes it all to a whole new height. And the concept of legions of readers boiling up their mother-in-laws' sweaters (cashmere, I am sure) and then cutting them into pieces has had my sides splitting with glee. I will suggest this to all my friends.
ReplyDeleteYours hysterically
Pomona x
As usual your post has made me smile and today was even more entertaining for I had not stumbled accross your blog when the dreaded nasal hair first presented its little self! I have to say that I am truely thankful for so many things, but today I am without a doubt most thankful to know that there are other women MY AGE who everyday fearlessly fight the battle of the Roque Hairs. Thank you! On Thursday, I will do a (silent of course) salute to you as I raise my wine glass. Happy Holidays:)
ReplyDeleteI too am thankful for your imagination! It is a beautiful & wonderous thing!
ReplyDeleteWhat am I thankful for...?! Oh so much!
I am thankful for my little family, my gorgeous, attitude abundant Little Punk & my cheeky amusing darling.
I am thankful for my creativity, my urge to make things, to draw things, to "fix" things, and my ability to do it.
I am thankful for my individuality. Being part of the crowd is increadibly overrated, and like you my dear, if I did not have it, I would be an entirely different person.
There are so many more things, but I shant clutter up your comments with my yammering, I will just smile & think of it all, being quietly thankful.
Thank YOU for making me think about it. Have a lovely & gleeful time off without us, we will eagerly await your return!!!
Hi Tif, a lot of the time i get bad blog envy over peoples homes and crafty-ness (not nostril hair though he he!!) but i am thankful for our teeny tiny cottage at times it drives me to despair it is so small we hardly have room for a sofa not alone us three but it is filled with one lovely adult (my very understanding husband)one very sweet little boy who yearns for a sibbling but after four long years of heart ache we were lucky to have him, one cute cat and one slightly mad craft obsessed, dreamer (me) and lots of dreams and love, when ever im losing sight I think of our little home full of us and dreams and im thankful, please may you enter me in your giveaway if its open to uk peeps, have a nice time with your family, fliss xx
ReplyDeleteWhat I am thankful for...
ReplyDeletemy healthy children
my funny husband
my crazy family
my eccentric friends.
Oh I have so much to be thankful for, but the first thing that pops into my mind is my husband. I am so thankful that the stars aligned and I met a man like him. Everyday when I wake up and see him, my heart goes all a flutter and I think "He picked me!"
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for wonderful family, a husband that understands, rainy days, mash potatoes and a comfy chair. Freedom that I take for granted daily, and love that comes from a total stranger.
ReplyDeleteHow funny and gleeful!
ReplyDeleteI am simply thankful for my family :)
I'm so thankful that I found your blog via the very Artful Blogging magazine you're giving away. Don't own my own copy, just browsed it at the bookstore. Would love to win.
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for time with family. In my case that seems a bit wonky, since I homeschool my children and am with them all day but my life is enriched (most of the time) being with my 2 girls. They make me laugh, and laughter is the world's best medicine I think. I may not live through this year because one is a senior but it's been a good run. :0)
Off to Facebook your wonderful giveaway. Might even throw caution to the wind and tweet it as well!
I am very thankful, of course, for my family and friends, and that I live in a beautiful place (Montana) and that I have a good job (though I think of myself as an artist first...) I am also thankful that I get to 'meet' so many people through blogs. It's still amazing to me! Jamie V in MT

I am thankful for my little, happy family of three. A 17-year-old gem of a daughter whose pretty self still enjoys snuggle time and laughing while holding hands and walking in the mall. A big Old English Sheepdog, Gideon's his name, who takes care of us two girls like any good man should.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you!
Dawn
I´m thankful that thanks to you the words ´glee´ and ´gleeful´ are for me the summum of all things cozy and inspirational. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh ....in case my hubby reads this...of course I´m most thankful for him, my family, friends and kitties.
I am most thankful for a lovely clean bed to crawl into every night. The best part of the day is stretching out horizontal and relaxing into sleep. Just simply the best part. of. the. day. :)
ReplyDeleteKathy Frazier
I am thankful, plain and simple. For all the things already mentioned and more. Still, right now, this very minute I am thankful for Althea.
ReplyDeleteAlthea is a hard knuckled old broad that used to be my neighbor. She lived in the Triplex next to our house when we moved in and she took a liking to me. There was no guessing, it was clear by lines on her face that she had a tough life and maybe made a few bad choices. She could be loud, ornery, and some days seem buck wild crazy. She was always kind to me.
When the building was sold, she moved on. She comes back about once a month or so - knocks on my door and says, "How you doin' baby?" She calls my daughter "little mama" and tells me to tell her son (my husband) that she says hello. We save up our bottles and cans for her, sometimes I give her a beer from the fridge. We chat in the doorway and I know she is not feeling well. She is ageless in a way but, if I had to guess, I'd say she was in her 70s. She takes care of grand babies and her great grand babies, she collects cans and bottles to keep her existing. Before she leaves we hug, she tells me, "I love you baby!" She just now came by and so...
I am thankful for Althea...that she still comes around, that she loves me in her own way, that she reminds me of all the things I am thankful for.
Well of course I'm thankful for Mr Kitsch, but also all the bread products in world! I love good bread - a cottage loaf, a baguette, a ciabatta, an overnight loaf or stone-baked boule. Crumpets, muffins (english ones, I mean), rolls, bagels, pittas, naans, I could go on...And toasting and warming just adds to the glee!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the UK, so you don't need to include me in your giveaway, but I'm doing a giveaway too, and I'd love you and your readers to drop by and take part!
http://kitschandcurious.blogspot.com/ Thanks!
opposable thumbs, cover up stick, ewan mcgregor, whoever discovered you could turn potatoes in alcohol and beans into chocolate, beer goggles, play doh, flip flops, the word 'bonkers', chocolate brown hair dye, flickr, disposable nappies, daffodils, the beach, cake, knitted socks, aspirin... your blog's pretty good too! :)
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful to God for the great man I call my hubby, our puppy dog, a sense of humor, and amazing blog friends! I'm also grateful to be learning (albeit a little slower than I'd like) how to not take myself and my worries so seriously. Life is too short not to enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteBlessed abundantly in Indiana,

Hi Dottie,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway op.
I am thankful for my body. BEcause through the years I have mentally and verbally abused it. I have complained that it is never good enough and I have shamed it to no end. But then I slowly began to realize how beautiful and miraculous it was. I can walk where I want to, it takes me through yoga classes (my favourite blissful 'me' time), it created, nurtured and gave birth to my son, the love and light of my life. Because of my body I can smell flowers, taste cookies, and see sunsets. Above all else, it allows me to love and be loved. My body is teaching me the lessons I need to learn to grow and to be a wiser, gentler and compassionate person.
xo Meagan.
oops.
ReplyDeletei am also thankful that you forgive me for calling you "dottie" when your name is clearly tiff and i read your blog almost everyday and know that your name is tiff.... and still called you dottie. doh!
Hey Tif...I have been doing a seven days of thankful on my blog to get back into my blogging after a self-imposed absence. I cannot remember how I discovered your blog, but I am thankful that I did. Your photos never fail to make me smile, and I think we are all thankful for your imagination! Your "gleeful" has been fun...I'll be sorry to see that end...but I am sure you will come up with something else equally as charming! *elaine*
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for the internet and the ease in which it allows me to communicate with friends and family overseas (I live in Australia). xx
ReplyDeleteoh well, lovely timing, I haven't been to visit for a while as things seem kind of crazy and hectic here at the moment which usually results in little computer time. But you know what I'm thankful for, in amongst all the crazy and hectic, so many lovely blogs out here in blog world so when I do have a little chance to have a little break I can come visit and take a breath and relax and have a looky and a read for a while. Wonderful I tell you!
ReplyDeletelook at you lovely thankful lot :)
ReplyDeletei knew you would make me thankfully and gleefully proud...
consider yourselves all in my 'thankfully gleeful' dish, upon the mantelpiece due to little olive's addiction to paper. and there you will stay 'safe and sound' until 3rd dec
Tif x
I am thankful for the beauty that is surrounding us each day. Thankful that at certain moments, our eyes are opened to catch a glimpse and spy into the lovely things that inspire us to create!
ReplyDeleteI am ever thankful for change & patience & healing! Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful I've found your lovely little blog to keep me inspired.
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for the bump on my front which houses our newest family member.
I am thankful for my darling fiancee who is always there to make me smile when I feel it is impossible.
And I am thankful for my amazing family who have kept me strong through this very rough year.
Right now I am feeling particularly thankful to all those crafty, skilled, creative people (mom who sewed my clothes when I was a girl, Maret who knitted every time she came over for tea with my mom, Harv who had the darkroom in his house, Alice who grew every thing from seed, Dave who built practically every thing in his home, the list goes on...) who by example and by tutelage helped me become the self sufficient, creative, learn-by-doing person I am now, a person who is excited and able to join in the "utmost challenge".
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for my wonderful family, my friends, this great blog I have recently discovered, beautiful fall days, surprises, it goes on and on!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
I am thankful for...
ReplyDeletebeing able to live in a place where we have so much freedom and are able to express ourselves freely without fear.
for my wonderful, amazing family (though sometimes I forget how wonderful they are)
beautiful blogs like this one that inspire me...
Have a wonderful week!
I am thankful for my wonderful boyfriend who is now my fiance. I am thankful that we will spend the rest of our lives together. And I am thankful for my loving family. And I am thankful for God and the fact that this year I became cancer free. I am very thankful! And I am thankful for your lovely blog & giveaway! :)
ReplyDeleteI am thankful that I can be an Art Hermit moodling away in my studio and that my family and friends still love me and feed me cookies instead of being mad at me for neglecting them.
ReplyDeleteI am most definitely thankful for you, dear Tif, and your beautiful pictures that always inspire me to be creative and to make my home a pretty handmade one. (I love that turquoise stool, and especially that brown/cream blanket with the flowers on it. So pretty.)
ReplyDeleteAnd, Speedy, or a 'passing stranger', if you're listening, please pay careful attention when she throws my name in that dish. I so love that wreath. The issue of Artful Blogging would be great, too, but that wreath...!
Other things to be thankful for... thrift stores when the yard sales are over, shiny vintage Christmas balls, twinkly white lights, garlands of lace, and linens, of thrifted felted wool sweaters, or of paper.
Maybe I should just say 'garlands'.
And, I'm thankful for a husband who knows how to say the right things at the right time. And, for the little ones who sometimes do wrong things at the wrong time but they keep us smiling because of it. :)
~ Jennifer
I book marked your garland last week and cant wait to make one. I made a scarf similar to it a few weeks ago. Lovin the blog.

ReplyDeletebeing happy ...alos on a grey day
first thank you for that to-do list, I've added a couple things to mine... including the nostril thing.
ReplyDeleteI am thankful that I have my family so close to me and that they are willing to take my kids of my hands as long as I need to regain whatever sanity I lost for awhile. I honestly don't know how I would be able to make it some days without them.

It´s as easy as that: I´m thankful (for once or twice) for technology - for it enables me to armchair travel to Blogville + enjoy your charming, funny + inspiring posts...
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for our chickens...
ReplyDeleteheehee. We got them in May as 6 tiny balls of fluff. Together our family of 7 built their coop, painted it, hung Green Man above the door and have watched them grow. It is amazing to see a boy of 15 (one of our 5 children) love them the most. He picks them up, takes care of them best, and was overjoyed to find eggs three weeks ago after being told by countless farmers we would not have eggs in New England until February!
My girls talk to me daily and I often find myself sitting by their coop or letting them roam on bails of hay under my watch to bring back the simplicity in my life. I am thankful for their offerings and companionship.
P.S. My man claims to despise the word doily; but I see a twinkle in his eye when I say it!!
Happy Thanksgiving Tif!
I am thankful for my 40th birthday present - my third child!
ReplyDeleteyou truly are a 'gleeful, thankful' wonderful lot... i can't even begin to explain how your 'thankfulness' has made me most humble this morning.
ReplyDeleteyou are all in the little dishy that is now rather full and may have to become a 'gleeful' bowl instead... and that goes for the lovely comment found in my inbox too :)
Thank you for the to-do-list! I´m thankful for many things, but today I´ve felt particularly happy and lucky for the lovely people I have in my life, so I´m thankful for my loved ones and friends. I´m also thankful for my playfulness and my imagination.
ReplyDeleteI am gleefully thankful for two little boys with big brown eyes who follow me around the house all the time, and for their father, also with big brown eyes, who also follows me around the house all the time.

I'm thankful for my family: husband, children, parents and my brothers and their families. That's the most important thing to me, loved ones and spending time with them.
ReplyDeleteI'm also thanful for people like you Tif, who inspire and are so generous in spreading happiness to others. And it seems that the whole blogland is full of people like that - so I think I'm also thankful for finding my way to all the inspiring people on line :)

I'm thankful that my 82-year old father was misdiagnosed. This past summer, he went to the doc for a routine visit and was told he had acute leukemia. After a couple of agonizing weeks of testing...the doctor was completely and totally wrong!

ReplyDeleteWell I'm thankful for -
ReplyDeletethe fact that my glasses aren't strong enough for me to even see if I have nostril hair or not.
the ability to still bend to reach my toes and paint them any colour I fancy.
the fact that I gave in and was a nice sharing mummy with my cream doughnut tonight. It was mine after all, I was going to eat it secretly, but they found it first.
most of all I'm so thankful for the wake up call I had recently that however many worries you have look at the small acts of magic and pleasure in your life. Really reaping the benefits of that one.
Enjoyed thinking about this one Tif - so thanks.

lovely thankfulness this evening dearest readers,
ReplyDeleteand carole,
my fingerless gloves are knitted from... wait for it!
a pattern!!! i know, will wonders never cease :)
i knitted them over two years ago and they are by Rowan and it was taken from the lovely autumn/winter knitting & crochet book #38
my first cable attempt and i was so pleased. since then my knitting abilities have never quite matched that lovely moment in time, when the stars were inline and the knitting cable gods shone down on me...
I am thankful for my three beautiful daughters. I am especially thankful for my husband who brought me flowers yesterday after having a bad day. I am thankful for crafting because without it I wouldn't be who I am. And I am thankful for your lovely blog that is very gleeful indeed!
ReplyDeleteI am "gleefully" Thankful for my family, my health and all the wonder of each day lived.
ReplyDeleteI am blessed.
ReplyDeleteSimply said. There is so much to be thankful for, but today, the very first thing I think of is how grateful I am for those out there who believe in, cheer on, and support artists. If it wasn't for them, I'm sure I'd be wandering city streets barefoot and hungry (or worse yet, stuck in a cubicle every day!) rather than creating in my studio.
THANK YOU! I APPRECIATE YOU (shouted from the very tip top of my lungs)
oh and p.s.
ReplyDeleteI'm in store for a 10 hour drive tomorrow COMPLETE with three [thrifted] balls of yarn, one hook, and grand plans for a whole forest of wonky trees. Thank You for fabulous ideas!
Thank you so much Tif ,, mmm dont know if this is available here Down Under :) love em tho, you make up for everything in the crocheting ..how are we going to survive the next 10 days :) take care xx Carole

ReplyDeleteas i climb the stairs of mossy shed, weary but feeling thankful, i just have to let you know...
today, a ton of things have popped into my brain and i have thought to myself, how will i manage to say nothing for 10 days other than the odd 'twitter'... it will be a test of my 'blogging addiction' that is for sure.

ReplyDeleteDear Tif,
ReplyDeletei am thankful to be healthy at this present time. Last holiday season was filled with illness. right now, i'm i guess you could say, in remission.
And so when i get overwhelmed of everything my family needs or wants, i stop and remember to be thankful that i am well enough "to do" for them.
Thank you Lord for your wonderful grace.

ReplyDeleteI am thankful that our family is happy, healthy and able to spend another year of holidays together.
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful for Effexor. It's the reason I can now make things and that makes me crazy happy. Oh, yeah, also husband dog home folks sisters niece nephews health.... but mostly the meds that allow me to enjoy all the rest. Should I be admitting this to a bunch of strangers?
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for to read your blog today though some scrapbooker blog. I can't wait to read from your old post. I love your creativity and your photos. You give a lot of courage for me to do my passion :) thanks
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for every morning that I wake up breathing, for my legs that take me places, and for my hands that create what I envision with my imagination.
FELICIDADES.

ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for my incredible family and for my hubby who works so hard for us!
I'm thankful that I find great pleasures in the simple things in life, things such as wonderful thrifted fabric.Thankful that others know me so well, passing fabric, yarn and jam jars to me, even if it is with a raised eyebrow at the fact I get so excited about it!
Oh Tif, I have thought long and hard about it and I'm also very excited,I'm talking about The Challenge of the UTMOST Kind. Please include me in your challenge.I started it on 22nd November!

Rachel x
gleefully thankful for people with wit and humour... life would be so dull without it!
ReplyDelete...nostril hair one can become pretty attached to... like wise gray hair and the uninvited tash... but it's the chin hairs that get me...:(

I have re-discovered Glee after finding your blog. I had forgotten all about it.
ReplyDeleteI just found some fabulous thrifted yarn called "AIRY" in turquoise with turquoise shimmer at Goodwill for 50 cents a skein. I felt Glee when I found it! Will search for ideas on what to do with it after the Turkey Day Preps.

ReplyDeletemy pen is running out! i am thankful for that, as it means so many of you have found something to be 'thankful' for and so many of you are now in my overflowing 'thankfully glee' dish...

ReplyDeleteDearest Dottie
ReplyDeleteIn the dim & distant past (age 8) I wanted my bedroom wallpapered my dad said 'have a go you'll never learn if you don't try' now this may have been that he had been in the pub all day or the best piece of advice ever.. I was so proud of that room with its wonky peeling paper...So I am thankful of that day, it has taught me to sew, plumb a sink, fix the exhaust that fell off many times on various cars & many other wonderous things and that everyday if I want something doing 'I give it a try' might be crap but it'll be better next time!Your blog shines on the greyest day thankyou rx
after two weeks of being scared of what might be I am thankful that it might no and I still have my life....
ReplyDeleteI am just so thankful
x
I am thankful for my dentist and orthodontist. It sounds weird, but without my dentist, I wouldn't have gone to my ortho. Without my Ortho, I wouldn't have finally found what made me have chronic daily migraines. 5 years of mystery came to an end once I went to his office. An adult life of painful headaches ended within 2 weeks of starting treatment.
ReplyDeleteAnd now I can do normal things like take my kids to school every day, open an etsy store, decorate my house.
i am thankful for having been able to spend the last month of my pa's life caring for him. to allow the old roles of father and daughter dissolve and in it's place only the purest of love remained. i am thankful for this gift. i am thankful that he waited until i returned to the room to hold his hand as he took his last breath. my mom and i at his side.
ReplyDeleteso thankful.
thank you poppy....
I have some much to be thankful for this year, but right now, I am especially thankful that this semester of Anatomy and Physiology is almost over. At my house, this will be the year remembered for Mom (that's me) almost overcooking the turkey because she was studying about urine formation and not paying attention to the time!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful to have stumbled upon this post and have the opportunity to enter such an awesome contest. I'm also thankful for my lovely wife and our precious daughter. I'm especially thankful to see so many other people this year with so much to be thankful for in spite of our current economy.
ReplyDeleteThank you all the interesting people around the world for sharing so much inspiration!
ReplyDeletethankful for my kids and my husband... for not needing to go into debt for christmas this year... for great friends... for finding out about Castle and Eureka, and watching multiple episodes per night... for this amazing thing called the internet where I can meet people, be challenged, and learn so many things :)
ReplyDeleteThankful for my husband serving 7 years in the Army and getting out this Thanksgiving day all in one piece.
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for my new bike, "Blue Streak", and my sweetie Jesse that bought it for me. Now I can ride the few miles to work instead of sitting on the bus to sit at a desk!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for my husband, a roof over my head and my two cats. And also thank you Dottie Angel for the opportunity to win. Best wishes, Jeanette.
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for. My family. My husband. My daughter. My son. For chocolate and tea. For Fall and the beautiful leaves. My health. My camera and memories brought back with each picture. Having a roof over our head. Our garden. Friends. The memories we cerated with our dog (we've missed him last year). For finding your blog and the other creative women. For getting the chance to win your gift. For good wine. Being able to take a walk. For being able to use my hands to make anything I want to try. For the inspiration I get from you and other wonderful people out there. For being right here, right now.

ReplyDeleteI'm a new reader of your blog but I am immediately inspired when I visit your site. Thank yoU!
Living in the Pacific NW, I am thankful for every sunny day that comes along after a rainy one. One makes me appreciate the other.

ReplyDeleteI am also rather thankful that after 16 years my husband still makes my heart flutter x
I am thankful for my 15 yr old complicated overly emotional daughter. She is by far the most amazing thing I have ever done and I am in awe of her each and every day. Despite my often bad habits she is still responsible beautiful caring thoughtful accountable and wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for your blog it makes me happy on days when the world is not so much so.
I am thankful for my gorgeous, kind husband, beautiful amazing children & all of our good health Xx
ReplyDeleteThankful "thinking" in this moment:
ReplyDeleteBirds and frost on sunny fields (and discovering your lovely blog).
Well, on a serious note, I am most thankful for my DH who is my best friend and soulmate. And for my Father God and Saviour Jesus Who sent Mike to me :) Our two precious Jack Russell Terriers, Annie and Spencer, whom we had to pour our hearts into for 17 and 13 years respectively.
ReplyDeleteOn a not-so-serious note, I guess I too will be thankful for my serious nosehair. It's become much more populated as the eyelashes and brow hair have diminished. I don't have to pluck my brows as often and have a nifty little Conair battery-operated nose hair trimmer now. They say that as we ladies age our eye hair migrates south to our noses, upper lips, and chins. I've found that to be true ;) But, I'm thankful!
Please enter me in your wonderful contest. Thank you ♥
und ich bin dankbar, deinen block gefunden zu haben.
ReplyDeleteso viel freude und lust am leben!!!!
danke!!!
liebe grüße von emma
So many things to be thankful for... I'm most thankful for being alive and having my wonderful family (including my Kool) share the joys and pains of our journey through life. I'm thankful for all the beautiful and natural things in this world and also for the wonders of the www. And I'm thankful for all the artists and crafters who share inspirations and creativity in making our world a more beautiful place to live in.
ReplyDeleteToday I am thankful for my outlook on life, Yasmine Surovec's art (as I type I'm looking at one of her A Print a Day images), Frye boots, my boys (I am ALWAYS thankful for them!), and the quarterly bonus I unexpectedly received yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI am also thankful for your imagination, because it always gives me a little smile. :-)
ReplyDeleteI am thankful, that amongst all the craziness of the last few months, that I have a husband who is waiting for me to return to normal. A small thing, but keeps me pushing forward.
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for my husband and my puppy, our families, having a cozy house to live in and cars to get us around, jobs that provide for our physical needs and a wonderful community of friends.
ReplyDeleteThis year I am even more thankful for my family, who loves me for simply being me, and for my twin boys who give me two reasons to be a better person.

Hi Tif! I'm thankful, amidst the chaos of life, for many, many things. I give you a random list of things that make me pause and remember how wonderful this dang life really is:
ReplyDeleteplush towels, golden girls reruns, mandarin oranges, fireplaces, pretty stationery, good friends who send parcels in the mail unexpectedly, baby laughter, the people who write amazing life changing books, the people who encourage me beyond all reason when I decide to act on my crazy adventures, and today I'm thankful for the guy who thought to thank me for doing my job. All these things make me grateful and happy, and help me remember what goodness is. Oh, and one more thing. I'm grateful for that moment today, walking down the street in the half dark snowiness, when I remembered something my late grandfather did once, and it made me smile at his presence in my heart.
Best Wishes!
I give thanks for the family I was born into and the family made by me and my man, they give me everything I have and cherish and everything I could ever need x
ReplyDeleteI will have to remember this when I go collect terrarium moss. You are just amazing Tif!
